Growing up in Argentina, Segobia was always a fan of American pop culture, reading comics and watching movies and cartoons, which inspired my passion for drawing.

He use US currency as his canvas because the Dollar bill is a pop culture icon itself, being the most recognized print in the world. Segobia deconstruct the iconography of the American Dollar by replacing the portraits of dead presidents with subjects that are more diverse, sometimes to raise awareness on a topic that is important to him, and sometimes just for fun.

Martin Segobia was born in Argentina, studied art at Lola Mora School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, and San Francisco State University. His work has been exhibited in several states, including a four-man show with the great Mel Ramos.
